It's one of those isn't it?
I'd say well done for her fighting back, as she could have been the one who ended up dead.
It's the same end result as killing someone who breaks in to your home, but the ridiculous thing is if you end up killing them you are the one in the wrong.
So for me, the gang were in the wrong, and one of them got their just desserts by ending up dead.
It's a no brainer for me.
